We are pleased to say that we have begun our phased re-opening during Covid-19 of Hearing Aid Solutions for emergency wax removal in Carmarthen.

Returning is going to be a difficult task for us all but we are doing our absolute utmost to make things as safe as we possibly can for you, and for us.

The health and well-being of you and your families are of the utmost importance. We are following the latest guidelines from BSHAA and implementing strict procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of all our clients and employees.

As you can see from the photo of Martyn below – we are using single use full PPE for every client that comes in the door.

We have allocated a minimum of an hour for each client, to allow us to fully sanitise the clinic before the next client comes in.

There are no drop in appointments and there is a strict one in one out policy.

What can I expect when I arrive?

Once you arrive at our clinic no earlier than 5 minutes before your slot, you will be asked to knock the door.

Whilst wearing full PPE, we will then let you in the clinic. We will ask you to sanitise your hands and put on your fluid resistant mask that we will provide for you.

We will then take you into the clinic room and discuss your history and forms you have filled in.

Once we have an idea of the problem, we will show you the inside of your ear canals on the monitor using video otoscopy.

If there is wax present, we can remove the wax either via microsuction, irrigation or manual removal. If there is no wax present, we could either test your hearing, or do tympanometry. Tympanometry tests the function of your middle ear. Both of these services incur a £35 charge (which includes the £20 consultation charge).

After the wax is removed, we will show you what your ear canals look like afterwards, as well as give you any post-procedure advice.

We will then ask you to re-sanitise your hands and safely dispose of your mask on the way out.

We are running a limited hours clinic, so please be patient during our re-opening and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future.
