What to expect on the day.
Medical history
You will have an expert consultation with a highly experienced Audiologist. We will spend time discussing your symptoms, hearing history, exactly when and where you are having hearing difficulties, as well as other related issues such as tinnitus, sensitivity to noise, family history and noise exposure.
Ear examination
We will gently examine your ear canal thoroughly using our specialist video camera and display the picture for you to see (if you want to). We will be able to identify any obvious obstructions such as wax and identify any problems with the ear canal or eardrum.
The Hearing Test
Performed in our soundproof booth – this is a fully diagnostic hearing test, from which we can identify the exact nature, severity and cause of any hearing loss you may have.
Middle ear pressure test
Known as Tympanometry, this is a test of middle ear function. If it’s needed, Tympanometry can identify any negative pressure, congestion or fluid in the middle ear. It’s a quick and painless procedure that’s useful for picking up conditions like glue ear.
Understanding your results
Your Audiologist will give you a full and clear explanation of your test results with appropriate recommendations.

Technology
We would discuss topics like choosing manufacturers, level of technology, whether or not you want the aids rechargeable, or with Bluetooth so you can stream phone calls, and more.
Style
You may want custom made in-the-ear hearing aids. Some prefer hearing aids on top of ear to maximise discretion. These are all the types of variables we would discuss.
